How do free lotteries sound, every day of the week?

Every time you’ve played on YOLO Games, you’ve paid a fee (ranging from 1-3%, depending on the game).

All of those fees get paid back to you, the players, across various initiatives — check out the docs if you’re interested in the breakdown.

Today, we’re thrilled to launch two of those initiatives: Daily Draws and Weekly Draws.

🛞 Rollout

Today, you’re getting 10% of all Tickets you’ve earned so far!

Where are my other 90%? They’re coming soon — we just want to make sure you don’t blow your load on smaller draws before we roll out the big ones next week.

The first three Daily Draws will be small, as we’re using them to test out the lottery. The next five will amount to a total of 60 ETH (~$240k) or more, and the first Weekly Draw will be a single pot of 25 ETH (~$100k) or more.

From now until the end of Sunday’s Daily Draw, you’ll keep getting 10% of your earned Tickets. This will allow you to test the waters before we give you the rest — just in time for the big draws.

🤞 How Draws Work

Every day, 10% of all collected fees goes into the Daily Draw pot, and 5% goes into the Weekly Draw pot. At the end of the day/week, winners get picked using a provable source of randomness.

Head over to the Lottery page, and you’ll get all the info you need:

• how much each pot has currently accumulated
• how long until winners are chosen
• how many Tickets you have available

🎟️ Tickets

For every 1,000 Points you earn on YOLO Games, you’ll instantly receive a Ticket.

You’ll use these to enter either Daily or Weekly Draws. It’s up to you when and how you use them. But just remember: each Ticket can only be used once.

In any draw, your chances of winning the top prize are proportional to the number of Tickets you’ve put in (versus the total number in the draw). For example, if you’ve added 1,000 Tickets out of a 10,000 total, you’ll have a 10% chance of winning.

⚠️ Note: Referral and BOOST Points don’t count towards earning Tickets!

👑 Winner selection

Tickets are in, the timer hits zero, the first winner gets drawn. Let’s say it’s you, with your 1,000 Tickets out of the 10,000 total. Congrats!

You’ll take home 30% of the total pot, before the second winner is picked. Since you’ve already won, your Tickets are no longer valid — each player can only win one prize per Draw.

Let’s suppose that Bob played with 2,000 Tickets. Now, his odds of winning the second prize (worth 10% of the pot) are 2,000 out of 9,000. Remember, we’ve removed your Tickets.

Bob wins, dropping the total to 7,000. The draw for the third winner now takes place. You get the idea: this process continues until a maximum of 50 winners have been selected.

If there are any less than that, the remainder of the pot will be set aside for future initiatives.
